OUR WORK
50+ organizations. 10+ years. Every engagement different.
I've worked with community development organizations and statewide advocacy networks, with eight-person teams and boards of thirty, with organizations in crisis and organizations building on strength.
SELECTED ENGAGEMENTS
A plan over a year in the making - and a board that voted unanimously.
THE SITUATION
A young organization needing to operationalize its theory of change, an overextended staff that is the difference between good and great, and a board that wants to succeed but doesn't know where to begin.
WHAT WE DID
30+ stakeholder interviews, a stakeholder survey, and internal assessment by the board and staff, two full-day retreats, and eight goal meetings resulting in a narrative document, implementation dashboard and executive summary to share with the community.
WHAT CHANGED
Internal operational transparency allows board and staff to support each other's work, while staying in their own lanes. The dashboard supports regular check-ins and progress toward goals. The executive summary translates dense internal work into shared community vision. The executive director emailed after delivery to say she was already using the work in grants and conversations about the organization.
A governance foundation built for the next chapter — not the last one.
THE SITUATION
A growing nonprofit in the live events industry with real momentum, a committed founder, and a mission that resonated — but governance infrastructure that hadn't kept pace with the organization's growth.
WHAT WE DID
Revised the bylaws, designed and facilitated board orientation, established committees, created a board handbook, and put new leadership and board policies in place.
WHAT CHANGED
Board members enter with clear expectations and a common reference point. Committees do substantive work between meetings. Leadership roles are defined. The governance structure now matches the organization ECCHO Live is becoming.
Two difficult conversations, handled with care — and a board that came out stronger.
THE SITUATION
Two board members whose continued service was creating friction, distraction, and organizational risk. The board knew something had to change but needed a process to navigate it with clarity and without drama.
WHAT WE DID
Guided the board through the governance framework for member separation, advised on how to structure the conversations, drafted supporting language, and ensured the process followed the bylaws and protected the organization.
WHAT CHANGED
Both members transitioned off the board professionally and without incident. Leadership recovered its focus — and the experience prompted the board to strengthen its recruitment and vetting process to prevent the same problem from recurring. The board president called after the first meeting that followed to say it was the best board meeting they'd ever had.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY
As a new non-profit leader within a fast-changing organization, Noah quickly was able to meet us exactly where we were and deliver actionable, practical solutions for our organization. I would recommend working with Noah for non-profits at any life-stage.
Kaitlin Dastague, Former ED, Rebuilding Together Nashville
I thought the discussion on appreciative inquiry was fantastic and can't wait to utilize that method both in a role on a non-profit board, as well as in other facets of my life/work. The baby animals were also great.
Young Leaders Council participant
Noah Spiegel's combination of intellect, deep understanding of organizational best practices, and ability to drive a strategic plan are the reasons I engaged him as a consultant for a strategic plan.
Donna Lee Siple, Former ED, Japan America Society of TN
I am inspired by and grateful for the open, thoughtful feedback he provides every single time we meet, and I know that I'm a better leader because of it.
